Think of the last time someone asked you something you didn’t answer to.

What was the response?

If you're like most people, you answered quickly with a short, "I don't know, " so that you could move on, escape the conversation, and carry on with your day.

However. We have plenty of other creative ways to tell someone : that we don’t have idea about something

If you don’t want to directly say I don’t know, therefore.

What can you say instead?

As a result of that question, today we are going to learn 15 ways to say: I don’t know

Sop betting around the bush let’s do this

Let’s start with the informal situations

1)Dunno: This one is used informally, in spoken language:

Are you coming out later?’ ‘Dunno. Depends on the weather.

2) Not a clue/ I have no idea

Why didn’t Michael come to the party last night?

Not a clue

3) I haven’t the faintest idea: This means that you don’t know but also you don’t really care something.

  • Why didn’t my brother call him last night?

  • That means my ideas about why my brother didn’t call him are very faint,I don’t see them I have no idea.

4)I haven’t the foggiest idea.

Is the same idea as faints idea but we are using the root fog which means

Make sure you change you ton by using this expression because it doesn’t feel exactly serious.

5) How should I know

-Who left this mess on the table? How should I know? I’ve only just come home.

This is a kinda defensive and rude. Make sure you are using in the right situation.

6) Who knows?

How long time will you wait for getting back here? Who know?

7) It beats me: To say that you do not know or understand something.

  • Do you know if the meeting is at two?

I am not sure but I will try to find out.

You care the question that someone’s is telling you and then you will try to discovery. The answer

10) Let me think about it and I’ll get back to you.

  • We are having a company dinner tonight. Can you come?

You could say.

Let me think about it and I’ll get back to you.

If you add I will get back to you it feels a little bit more tender and polite

11) I can’t remember off the top of my head! But I will look into it and let you know!

Did the marketplace send you the essays?

14)I have the exact same question
